Missing elderly man found safe in Hernando County
The Citrus County Sheriff's Office reports that an elderly Hernando man reported missing earlier today has been found safe.
CCSO spokeswoman Heather Yates said today that Martin N. Rojo, 85, was at the Walgreens on State Road 486 in Hernando earlier today and drove away, leaving his wife inside the store.
Awards honor service at SRRMC banquet
CRYSTAL RIVER - Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center on Thursday proudly recognized 55 hospital associates at their 2010 Service Awards Banquet.
Animal Services looking for cat that scratched Hernando girl
The Citrus County Animal Services Division is looking for a cat that scratched a Hernando child on March 7 on East Chorus Court.
The cat is described as a large, orange-colored male tiger.
If anyone has information about the whereabouts of this cat, call the Animal Services people at (352) 726-7660 immediately. If the cat is not located, the girl may have to undergo a series of rabies shots.
Friends of wildlife park to host Easter egg hunt on April 3
HOMOSASSA – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, Inc. is planning a big Easter Egg Hunt event at the Wildlife Park on Saturday, April 3.
The event will be held on the green behind the parking area at the park’s Visitor Center and main entrance on U.S. 19.
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee meets on Tuesday
The Citrus County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee will meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Room 166 at the Lecanto Government Building, 3600 W. Sovereign Path.
The meeting is open to the public.
Ft. Island Gulf Park Beach reopened to swimming
The Citrus County Parks and Recreation Section has removed signs prohibiting swimming at Ft. Island Gulf Beach Park.
The beach had been posted last week after the Citrus County Health Department Division of Environmental Health issued an advisory because of high bacterial counts.
