The Citrus County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 23-year-old Lecanto man after a woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted on Monday.
Arrested on Thursday was Kevin Allan Davis, of 2330 Silver Hill Lane. His alleged victim, who is also a Lecanto resident, is 29 years old.
According to the arrest report, the woman told deputies she had gone to check her mail when she encountered Davis whom, she said appeared to be friendly. She said that he told her he was looking to rent an apartment in the area. They walked together as they talked, she said, until she arrived at her home where Davis asked to use her bathroom.
She said she allowed him to go inside, and decided to also go inside to make sure he wasn't going to take anything. At that time, he allegedly grabbed her wrist and dragged her to the bedroom where, she said, he forced her into sexual intercourse. She said Davis didn't use a condom, and that she had tried to block out what was happening by keeping her eyes shut, the arrest report says.
She said Davis left the residence once he was done. CCSO investigators canvassed the neighborhood using information provided by the victim, and found Davis.
After being read his rights, Davis agreed to speak with an investigator, and then gave varying accounts of what had happened on Dec. 5. Eventually, the arrest report says, Davis admitted that he had forced the woman to have sex, and Davis told the detective that he was depressed, couldn't explain why he took out his anger on the victim and then offered apologies.
Davis was charged with one count of sexual battery on someone without their consent.
His bond was set at none.
