The Eagle Snag Bird Trail at the Citrus County landfill has now been reopened.
The trail will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work on an expansion project, which will provide an additional 800,000 cubic yards of disposal capacity at the landfill, had temporarily closed the trail.
Bird watchers must go to the landfill office first and register before setting out on the trail where they can see eagles and many other birds that visit the landfill. There are several vantage points where birdwatchers can stop and observe or take photos.
