Citrus County Sheriff's Office deputies have found the body of a Homosassa man who was reported missing on Friday.
At approximately 8 p.m. Sunday evening, deputies searching for Thomas William Turnbull, the 53-year-old man missing since Friday morning, discovered his body among palmettos in a densely wooded area about a mile from his Homosassa residence.
The CCSO said he appeared to be the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Next of kin was notified, and the medical examiner’s office responded, taking the body to Leesburg for autopsy.
