A boil-water notice has been issued for a portion of Sugarmill Woods.
Citrus County Utilities is performing maintenance on water valves.
Affected areas include Douglas Street, which services apartments at 49 Douglas St. Apt Nos. 20 – 32 and 53 Douglas Street Apt Nos. 12 – 19 & 33 – 36 only.
The maintenance requires the loss of pressure in the distribution system. Due to this loss of pressure in the distribution system, the bacteriological quality of water is questionable.
Accordingly, all water used for consumption and cooking purposes should be boiled until further notice.
Citrus County Utilities will be flushing the affected lines, and will collect two consecutive days of bacteriological samples as soon as all flushing and disinfecting is completed. This is a precautionary measure to ensure that the water meets all safe drinking water standards.
This notice will remain in effect until satisfactory bacteriological samples are received. At that time, your door will be tagged with a rescinding notice.
