Fierce storms ripped through Citrus County both today and on Wednesday as a strong front pushed in from the Gulf of Mexico and throttled 14 counties in southwest Florida.
Citrus County Commissioners watched an historic event Jan. 20 as workers took down the old blinking light in Holder at the U.S. 41/County Road 491 intersection.

HERNANDO – Citrus County deputies were dispatched just after midnight today to a reported armed robbery at the Kangaroo Express at 8486 N. Carl G. Rose Highway.
County County workers have put up the signs in two county parks to begin a 90-day trial program to let dogs be walked on leashes on walking trails in those parks.
All five Citrus County Commissioners today agreed that now is not the time to charge fees for using the county's parks and recreation areas.
