The Citrus County Commission has presented a proclamation to the Citrus County Community Alliance, proclaiming Jan. 29 through Feb. 3 as “Children’s Week”, and April 1 as “Parents and Children’s Day” in Citrus County.
Parents and Children’s Day was originally established as “Children’s Day” in 1988.
The 2002 Florida Legislation renamed this official, statewide Florida holiday as “Parents and Children’s Day” to more fully reflect support of the most important institution in Florida – the family.
