Citrus County Professional Firefighters of Local 4562 recently gave a check for $2,361 to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

The money from the Florida speciality vehicle tag saluting firefighters is distributed by the Florida Firefighters Charities to charities and projects selected by local firefighters in the counties where the money is collected from tags.

In the photo at right the Citrus County Fire Rescue personnel hand over the check to an American Cancer Society representative on the day county employees wore pink T-shirts that the firefighters designed to show support for breast cancer victims.

Shown are, front row, from left: Citrus Fire Chief Larry Morabito, Fire Inspector Laurie McLean, Driver/Engineer Bob Bessler, Firefighter/EMT Greg Ellis, Cancer Society representative Tobey Hunter, Firefighter/EMT Mike Arcuri, Kim Fugate, Ralph Franklin, Keith Long, Jim Goodworth.
