Citrus County Tea Party breaks with candidate Sager

BROOKSVILLE -- The Citrus County tea party has formally broken with candidate Jason Sager because of his past involvement with Protest Warrior.
Edna Mattos, president of the Citrus County Tea Party Patriots, said she can no longer support a candidate whose ideology differs so much from the precepts of the movement.
“We’re distancing ourselves because of all the controversy,” Mattos said. “We don’t want to be a part of it.”
The Hernando County Tea Party, however, still carries Sager’s endorsement on its official web site, as of today.
