CLOWNING AROUND – Fall is a fun season !

It is nice to be clowning again ! Our group took some time off, during the extremely hot months.

Citrus Clowns recently enjoyed performing for the Forest Ridge Elementary School PTA Fall Festival.
The children were precious and truly had a great time, possibly they had as much fun as did we clowns! They kept us busy, there were hundreds who wanted sculptured balloons. So sculpturing balloons , giving clown stickers and small give aways were the order of the day for our clowns group. We thank the PTA for their generous donation, it is much appreciated.

We were delighted to have Clown Hello (aka Betty Thompson) working with us again, sculpturing her cute puppy dog balloons and performing with her bird puppet. Hello loves making children happy with her clowning and balloons sculpturing. She has been ill and hasn`t been able to clown for several months, we missed her so much. Welcome back to Hello ! We love you !

Clown Martie (aka Martha Mayes) our “Lady Tramp” clown, is always fun to work with and she so enjoys strolling through the crowd, clowning around and giving out stickers. ( You`ll never meet a prettier “tramp “ clown than Martie.)

Clown Dr. Yar, (aka Ray Thompson) performed his sculpturing magic making animal, swords, lazer guns and bird balloons. He is a “mirth doctor”, don`t worry, he never gives medicines , he does give laughs. Our Dr. Yar loves his balloons sculpturing !

Jewels The Clown, was her usual ridiculous bejeweled self. No one can outclass Jewels in clown fashion, and she is always dripping in jewelry, no matter the occasion. Jewels sculptured flower and heart balloons and gave out big round balloons and stickers. Not much time for Jewel`s dancing, as we all stayed busy doing other things.

Upcoming activities for Citrus Clowns:
Citrus Clowns will be performing and have a booth at the Inverness, Florida Cooter Festival Oct. 24 & 25, 2009. We`ll be dancing, making great sculptured balloons, doing face painting art, giving out stickers and doing zany clown antics. Stop by our booth for fun !

We`ll be at the Crystal River Mall Nov. 7, 2009 for the Veterans Fair and on Nov. 11 we`ll be in the Veterans Day Parade in Inverness, Florida. We clowns are very patriotic and LOVE OUR VETERANS and all current military members still serving our country.

The huge Homosassa, Florida Seafood /Art Festival, as usual, will have Citrus Clowns performing there on Nov. 14 & 15, 2009. This year they expect 40,000 to 50,000 people. Now you know Citrus Clowns will dance and “strut their stuff” for a crowd that big, come see us ! We`ll be sculpturing
balloons, giving clown stickers and small give aways to the children. You`ll have fun, besides
“clowning around “ with Citrus Clowns, this is always a great festival and art show and the seafood is awesome.

We have several more huge fun events coming up, so we`ll be “clowning around all over the county, do look for us at more festivals, parades and other large community events.

On a somber note, our painted on smiling clown faces, hides the tears in our eyes, as we lost Mr. Jim Shields, a wonderful man and professional photographer. He photographed Citrus Clowns many times at events and shared his work free with us. He earned the love and respect of the whole community and is missed so much by all. Our deepest sympathy to his lovely wife Debi, and family.
