Clowning Around - Busy ! Busy ! Busy !

Citrus Clowns have been extremely busy and loving it, I haven`t even had time to catch up on group publicity and blog writing until now.

What more could be asked for fun, than a Mardi Gras Party? Add Senior Citizens and Citrus Clowns, mix well. Balloons sculpturing, face and hand painting, parading, complete with noisemaker horns and face masks and dancing with live music, now that`s a real party ! The Mardi Gras cakes and punch were very good. Oh yes, those nursing homes and assisted livings can really rock . In addition to all that, we were served a very nice dinner, before the party. Clowns had it good, while bringing joy and laughter to the residents. Jewels The Clown and Yar`s costumes were very much is the Mardi Gras spirit, while Bo The Hobo, was dressed in her typical, cute hobo attire.

The fun, smaller , community International Festival in Beverly Hills was next on our schedule, and the crowd loved clowns, so we all had a great time. Jewels The Clown and Martie, the Lady Tramp, handled all the clowning duties. Jewels danced to the live rock n` roll music and also, with several of the festival participants. She also, danced with the Line Dancing group, but being a typical clown, did her own steps, which weren`t what the others were doing, which caused hilarious laughter at her clown antics. Martie enjoyed the adoration of the crowd, while strolling and talking with everyone. She is a delightful lady, who loves clowning. We gave out hundreds of stickers to the adults and children, although there were few small children attending, as this was in a retirement community. Adults are just “big kids” anyway, so all was well, as clowns entertain all age groups.

Next, we clowned for 2 days at the Strawberry Festival in Floral City. There were thousands of people in attendance. We all have grand fun at festivals, as we usually have many clowns working the huge events, the more, the merrier !

The weather was very nice, which makes clowning easier. Two of our clowns were ill, others were away, so only working on Saturday were : Miss Edith Spinster, Yar and Jewels The Clown . Those working on Sunday were: Howdy Rowdy, Sassy Belle, Jewels The Clown, Yar, Squiggles and Sunny with her puppet boys, Big Sunny and Little Sunny. Festivals have so much going on, that clowns sometimes sit and let the crowd come to them, as the pathways get too crowded to move through easily. There was much: balloons sculpturing, giving of stickers and talking, and of course, a little dancing, when there was good music. A good time was had by all, on both days. Spring time clowning is great !
