Do you love your country ? We love our country, the U.S. A. ! Citrus Clowns were honored and proud to clown for the Armed Forces Recruitment Day in Crystal River, Florida, on July 18, 2009. There were very nice military and other patriotic displays, the rain didn`t dampen our spirits either.
Clowns working the event were: “Dr. Yar ”, lady tramp Martie, Sweet Peas and Jewels The Clown. Sweet Peas looked so cute in her patriotic red, white and blue costume, a real doll ! While Jewels was all decked out in an elegant, bejeweled patriotic costume, of course, red, white and blue. “Dr. Yar” and Martie wore their regular character costumes, which are clown appropriate for any occasion, or event.
Mr. Jim Shields, local professional photographer requsted that we clowns pose for him and he graciously sent the photos to us, with his permission given to us to use as we desire . ( Many thanks , Mr. Shields !)
Our next event was clowning for the Crystal River Moose Lodge # 2013 Family Center , for their Family Fun Day - Bar-B-Que Fund Raiser. The young children were so sweet, and in awe of our 4 clowns. Some wanted their faces, or hands painted by Jewels. They enjoyed the balloon animals sculptured by “Dr. Yar” and Sparklelet. Sunny is always fun with her puppet, Big Sunny. Also, Sparklelet had fun playing the children`s games. She had a beautiful new costume and looked fantastic , as always .
For the adults entertainment, clowns chased each other through the crowd with balloons swords , play “fighting”, totally impromptu , having fun in mock battle. Also, clowns assisted in their cake auction, by strolling through the audience showing the delicious looking cakes, which prompted spirited bidding with good prices resulting.
One of the ladies had a large stuffed animal horse, which puppet Big Sunny wanted to ride. Of course, she allowed him his cowboy fantasy to materialize. He looked so cute galloping ! (Shhh, we can`t talk about this too loudly, as his puppet brother, Little Sunny, would be sooo jealous, he had to stay at home this time).
We enjoyed our dinner of yummy pork barbeque, potato salad, corn on the cob and cole slaw.
Many photos were made of clowns and sent to us, thanks to the photographers.
A nice donation was made for Citrus Clowns, many thanks to the Moose Lodge .
