THANK YOU, MR. JEFF HALL!
Citrus Clowns thank Mr. Jeff Hall of Florida TV Productions for filming the Citrus Clowns first graduation ceremony and celebration, held in January 2009. He also, featured the ceremony on his TV Show on station WYKE recently and supplied DVDs of the video to the group.
Furthermore, he posted the video on YouTube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fyyiIVDbSA
Mr. Hall graciously donated his time and expense of this complete endeavor, to the group. Do watch the video, you will get a preview of the Citrus Clowns group in action and see the great work Mr. Hall does. Wooo Hooo ! He made us all look good !
Events
Due to the extreme cold weather, Citrus Clowns were forced to cancel their performance for the Manatee Festival, this was a great disappointment for the group. See you there next year !
Several of our clowns have been seriously ill and some have been on vacation, therefore, Jewels The Clown worked alone for the LifeSouth Blood Donation Center event in Lecanto on January 15. The event theme was “Slumber Party”, for the donors and staff . Everyone looked cute in their
“jammies”.
Jewels used an entirely different look for herself for this event, her costume of course, was outlandish clown pajamas with an Asian satin robe and Sponge Bob huge bedroom slippers, which made her walk funny.(Does she ever walk any other way?) She carried a Sponge Bob figure pillow. Ta Da ! Yep , she still wore gobs of jewelry, after all, jewelry is her “trademark” .
On January 18, Jewels The Clown paraded in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade in Crystal River and entertained at Copeland Park after the parade. Jewels was dressed in a patriotic costume of red, white and blue satin, complete with a patriotic top hat.
Face painting was the order of the day for the children, what fun was had by all, as Jewels painted their faces, thrilling the children and their parents, and gave out clown stickers and clowned around with the children and adults.
The ceremony honoring Dr. King included very moving recordings of his own voice in historic speeches, beautiful speeches by others and music. A delicious dinner was enjoyed by all 400+ people in attendance at this community event, which was open to the general public. Many thanks to Rev. Leon Thomas,Sr. and the George Washington Carver Community Center staff, committee and members for the invitation for Citrus Clowns to perform for their event. It was an honor to perform for this fine event.
