EVENTS
Citrus Clowns were delighted to work two events on July 3rd, for the Patriotic Celebrations in Crystal River. The Kings Bay Park was the site for a specially for children event , where our clowns performed.
The Crystal River Merchants Association provided the early, free event for everyone, by the water. Then, on Citrus Avenue, The Scallop Jam of the Crystal River Kings Bay Rotary Club provided the later in the day and evening event, with fireworks at night.
 
Balloons artist, Clown Dr. Yar (aka Ray Thompson), performed with his great balloons sculptures to the delight of children and adults, wearing a zany patriotic jester hat ,with his “Doctor” costume. Clown Sunny (aka Vicky Iozzia), with her puppet boys, Little Sunny and Big Sunny performed, thrilling everyone with her talents of puppetry, the three of them are totally precious. Clown Sunny`s costume was cool overalls with a great , jaunty hat. Jewels The Clown, in her billowing red, white and blue patriotic costume, with sequined hat, danced, and did temporary tattoos for all who wanted them and gave out stickers .
 
After many hours, the heat of the day became very uncomfortable, in our clown costumes , so Citrus Clowns did “walk throughs” for the Scallop Jam event , giving out stickers and interacting with the crowd. Actually, Clown Sunny and her puppets did a “ride through” on her three wheeled bicycle. Sunny and her puppets always thrill everyone. Clown Dr Yar, lost his clown walking cane ( whose name is “Harvey”, a mischievous character, whom we blame for anything that goes awry) . However, “Harvey” was finally found , giggling and hiding at a vendor`s booth and was reunited with Dr. Yar. We didn`t stay for the fireworks, which must have been spectacular. We were well received at both events, the crowds loved us ! Many thanks to Ms Denise Burke for both organizations, for inviting Citrus Clowns to perform at your events.
