A dryer fire on Thursday caused minor damage at a Beverly Hills home.
Citrus County firefighters were dispatched at 9:33 a.m. to 30 S. Monroe Street in Beverly Hills.
Fire Engine 201 from the Pine Ridge Station was the first unit to arrive at 9:41 a.m. Engine 201 found light-to-medium smoke conditions with a fire in the laundry room of the 1,450-suqre-foot concrete block structure.
Fire crews were able to quickly use a dry chemical extinguisher to put out the fire and contain it to the dryer. The fire was under control within four minutes after arrival.
Severeal dogs were in the smoke filled home, but were safely removed from the deadly smoke. The smoke was ventilated and removed from the home. The dryer was also removed from the home, and the power was secured that was going to the dryer outlet.The power company did not have to disconnect the power to the home.
Estimated damage was $600 for the dryer.
