The Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, Inc. are looking for admirers of the natural world to join us for our Nature Academy Summer Camp, a week of environmental investigation and exploration.

This event kicks off the county's Independence Day celebration with a full day of family activities and contests along the river ending in with an evening of spectacular fireworks.

3rd Annual Independence Day Golf Tournament at 9 a.m. on June 27 at the Citrus Springs Golf and Country Club.

The Citrus County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Committee will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8 in Room 117 at the Lecanto Government Building in Lecanto.

Special meeting of the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners at the Citrus County Auditorium to consider a request to change the zoning for the Cedar Key Fish House, also known as "The Freezer", which is located in Old Homosassa.

Owners of The Freezer are seeking to change zoning for the establishment from Low Intensity Coastal and Lakes District to Coastal and Lakes Commercial.

The Citrus County Landfill will be conducting a drop-off program for residents for household hazardous wastes on Saturday, July 25 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

The county has expanded its free Household Hazardous Waste drop-off program for residents to coincide with the paint disposal program days on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
