Do you need to be fingerprinted as part of a state-required background check for employment, to apply for a concealed weapon/firearm license or any other reason where fingerprints are necessary?

If so, volunteers with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office are ready to help.

Effective Tuesday, Aug. 17, the following is the updated schedule of days, times and locations where Sheriff’s Office volunteers offer this much-needed community service.

Residents are reminded to bring with them whatever fingerprint card has been provided by the entity requesting the prints, in addition to a driver’s license or other photo identification. Please be advised that the Sheriff’s Office does not provide fingerprint cards.

Also, there is a $5 fee per ink card or a $10 fee per electronic transaction. Cash or checks are accepted, but no credit or debit cards, please.

Before you go, it’s always a good idea to call the office first and verify that fingerprinting is being conducted as scheduled.

For more information, please call Sgt. Chris Evan, who heads up the Sheriff’s Office Volunteer Unit, at 527-3701.
