Citrus County firefighters on Sunday were kept busy with two separate mobile home fires, one in Inverness and the other in Homosassa.
No injuries were reported in either blaze, and both homes were later declared total losses.
Inverness Firefighters were called at 1:16 a.m. to 1689 S. Bea Ave. in Inverness for what was originally reported as a brush fire. While searching for the brush fire, they saw a glow in the woods, and began walking through the woods to locate the fire.
As they grew closer, they found the flames were coming from a double-wide mobile home. Additional fire units from the Kensington Avenue, Connell Heights and Beverly Hills stations were requested to assist with the structure fire. Because of the early morning hours and the difficulty locating the fire, they arrived at the mobile home fire approximately 19 minutes after notification.
The owner reported that he was at the residence earlier working on the floor of the mobile home and no one was currently living in the residence. The mobile home is insured.
The fire caused extensive damage throughout the mobile home, and damage to the home after the fire were estimated at $75,000 for the structure and $15,000 for the contents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.
Later Sunday morning, firefighters were called at 2:48 a.m. to extinguish a fire at 4309 S. Pencil Point in Homosassa.
The firefighters from the Homosassa fire station found the single-wide mobile home fire there fully involved with fire upon their arrival.
Firefighters from the Beverly Hills and Pine Ridge fire stations responded and assisted in extinguishing the fire. Due to the severe heat conditions, a rehabilitation unit was called for water to keep firefighters hydrated.
After several attempts, fire officials were able to talk to or locate the resident. Neighbors and family members believed the resident was not at home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
The fire caused extensive damage throughout the mobile home, causing damages estimated at $35,000 to the structure and $15,000 to its contents. The cause of the fire is undetermined, according to the fire report.
