Only a minor injury was reported in a Thursday fire reportedly caused by someone checking for a gas leak with an open flame.
Citrus County firefighters were called out at 6:32 p.m. to 412 Abel St. in Inverness to a single-wide mobile home that had light smoke showing from the outside.
According to the fire report, investigation revealed that an individual was checking for a gas leak while installing a new gas stove while using an open flame. This caused a flash fire to occur, the report said.
The State Fire Marshal’s office was notified due to one civilian with a minor injury from this incident.
Damage to the mobile home is estimated at less than $500.
