LECANTO - Just before 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers were notified about another home invasion robbery at a different location on West Noble Street.
When deputies responded this time, the two victims, a 73-year-old man and his 50-year-old co-habitant, said when the female answered a knock at the door, a pair of men forcefully entered the home and ordered the woman to the floor at gunpoint.
Both suspects were armed with handguns and demanded cash.
One of the masked men confronted the male victim in his bedroom, where the victim was watching TV. He threatened to shoot the senior if he didn’t give him the money, and a brief scuffle ensued.
In the end, the man’s wallet and cash were taken, in addition to a pair of firearms. The two suspects then fled out the front door in an unknown direction.
The victims described the one suspect, whose bandana was dislodged during the scuffle in the bedroom, as a white male in his late 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds with a medium build, plus a shaved head. The second suspect also is believed to be a white male, possibly in his 20s. Both men were wearing dark clothing, including hoodies, and had bandanas concealing their faces upon entry.
Except for minor scrapes to the male victim’s right arm, no other injuries were reported.
Anyone with information about this crime or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact 911, or Crime Stoppers of Citrus County, Inc., by texting CITRUS plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES), clicking on www.crimestopperscitrus.com or calling 1-888-ANY-TIPS toll-free. NOTE: In the earlier home invasion on W. Noble Street, reported on Dec. 23, CCSO detectives made two arrests: Anthony Nero, 22, and Kyle Corriveau, 20.
