Citrus County Commissioners watched an historic event Jan. 20 as workers took down the old blinking light in Holder at the U.S. 41/County Road 491 intersection.
The state has installed new, full-service traffic lights at what has become a very busy intersection.
The replacement of the old blinkers, which were the last ones on a major road in Citrus County, was viewed as a defining moment in relation to where the county has come from in its transportation infrastructure development, as opposed to how its future transportation needs will be met as it steps up to be a player in regional transportation planning and funding.
