No injuries were reported in a Wednesday afternoon mobile home fire, although some family pets were in danger for a time.
Citrus County firefighters were called out to 7267 Lincoln Lane in Homosassa at about 3:21 p.m. to battle the fire, which had fully involved a vehicle and about 25 percent of the mobile home.
The fire had grown into the attic area of the home. Speaking with several people on the scene, firefighters were told that there was no one home; however, several animals were in the home. Three cats and one dog were rescued from the home and brought to Nature Coast EMS unit on scene to be checked on.
Once all animals were rescued, fire personnel began an aggressive interior attack of the fire in the attic area. At 3:45 p.m., the fire appeared to the be under control with no further smoke showing, but later relighted and firefighters entered the attic again and put the fire out for good by 5:15 p.m.
The State Fire Marshal's Office will investigate the cause of the fire.
Including the vehicle and mobile home, total damage was estimated at $114, 373, Citrus County Fire Services said.
