CFCC Citrus, Chamber partner for classes

Continuing Education at Central Florida Community College and Citrus County Chamber of Commerce have partnered for a Professional Development Series at the Citrus Campus, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway in Lecanto.

* Essentials of Leadership - Friday, Sept. 18, 1-5 p.m. This foundation course will teach leaders how to get results through people. The fee is $99 for chamber members and $129 for nonmembers. This course is the prerequisite to the three courses that follow.

* Leading Change - Friday, Oct. 9, 1-5 p.m. Leaders learn how to introduce a change initiative and lead discussions with employees to explore the best way to implement change and how to help others overcome their resistance to change. The fee is $99 for chamber members and $129 for nonmembers.

* Coaching for Success - Friday, Oct. 30, 1-5 p.m. Learn how to identify coaching opportunities, provide needed coaching and support, observe performance and measure results. The fee is $99 for chamber members and $129 for nonmembers.

* Resolving Conflict - Friday, Nov. 20, 1-5 p.m. Leaders learn the true cost of conflict to an organization and techniques for effectively handling even the most challenging conflict-related discussions. The fee is $99 for chamber members and $129 for nonmembers.

* Service Plus - Friday, Dec. 11, 1-5 p. m. This program provides a toolbox of skills for effectively and efficiently handling all types of customer interactions. The fee is $199 for chamber members and $235 for nonmembers.

* Microsoft Office Basics - Saturdays, Sept. 12 through Nov. 7, 8-11 a.m. Students will gain a working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint through hands-on exercises. Students should have a basic understanding of the computer. The fee is $135 for chamber members and $159 for nonmembers.

* Communicating with Sensitivity - Wednesday, Oct. 7, 9 a.m.-noon. Participants will learn how their communication style impacts their co-workers and customers. The fee is $79 for chamber members and $99 for
nonmembers.

* Public Speaking Pointers - Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1-4 p.m. Improve your comfort level with public speaking and learn tips on how to use your new skills for the benefit of your organizations. The fee is $79 for chamber members and $99 for nonmembers.
