As of last month, the Citrus County School District joined millions of individuals and organizations on Facebook to help keep parents and citizens more informed of the latest news and upcoming events within the educational community.
“Sites like Facebook are allowing organizations like ours to share information and engage with parents in new ways,” says Sandra “Sam” Himmel, Citrus County Superintendent of Schools.
Facebook is a free social networking website that allows users to join networks of individuals or organizations with like interests. Not only popular with those under 30, the site's popularity is growing fast among all generations.
Interested citizens can become “fans” of the School District’s page by logging into their Facebook account (or starting a new one at www.facebook.com), search “Citrus County School District” and clicking on the “become a fan” box.
