Spencer Tyson Weaver
Just before 12:30 p.m. today, Citrus County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested Spencer Tyson Weaver, 21, of Inverness, charging him with aggravated child abuse and murder in connection with the death of his 2-month-old son, Tamarri Weaver.
On Friday night, the Sheriff's Office had issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for Weaver, seeing as the man had left a voice mail for the child's biological mother, threatening to do harm to himself.
When deputies safely located him today, he told the detectives who also responded that he had physically abused his son for several weeks and knew that his actions had caused the infant's death.
Weaver was taken into custody and transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility, where he's being held on no bond.
The infant's biological mother and other family members have been notified of the arrest and circumstances surrounding the boy's death.
Preliminary results of the infant's autopsy performed on Thursday listed blunt force trauma as the cause of death, and homicide as the manner of death.
