Citrus County residents who want to use the discount prescription card being provided by the Citrus County Commission can now print out the card online.
The discount card, provided to the county through its affiliation with the Nation Association of Counties (NACo), is presently available to Citrus residents at most all pharmacies in the county.
It provides a 20 to 22 percent discount on prescriptions for residents who do not have health insurance or drug coverage in their health insurance plan. The card can also be used by an insured person whose policy does not cover a certain prescription.
The commission has been supplying the card to pharmacies for them to make available to residents. To make the card even more accessible, NACo now is giving residents the convenient option of printing a card directly from the Internet for immediate use at any participating pharmacy. All pharmacies in the county have indicated they honor the card.
The county commission launched the program two years ago to help consumers cope with the high price of prescriptions, and now with the Interenet Web version, residents can get a personalized card themselves, and they can sign up for a program that provides even more savings on medications not covered by insurance on many three-month prescriptions by mail.
Residents can visit www.caremark.com/naco to learn about the discount program; print a live, personalized ID card for themselves and access other program tools. Savings are available immediately at any participating pharmacy. There is no obligation or cost.
Obtaining the card is easy. To print a card residents can:Access www.caremark.com/naco and select “Print a card.”
