TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority’s (TBARTA) Citizens Advisory Committee has elected its 2010 officers, and welcomes new members to the committee.

At the Feb.10 Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting, Ronald Lieberman of Inverness was elected to the position of Chair for 2010.

Lieberman represents Citrus County on the TBARTA CAC. Bill Jonson of Clearwater, Florida was elected Vice Chair at the committee’s January meeting. Jonson is on the committee representing the West Central Florida Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs). He served as the TBARTA CAC Chair from 2007 to 2009.

The committee also welcomed several new members:

  • Anthony R. Palmieri of Spring Hill, representing Hernando County and appointed by TBARTA Board Member Commissioner Dave Russell.
  • Steven Perry of Pinellas County, an at-large member appointed by TBARTA Board Member and Chairman, Ronnie Duncan.
  • Donald P. Schings of Sun City Center, Florida, representing Hillsborough County and appointed by TBARTA Board Member
  • Commissioner Ken Hagan. Schings previously served as an alternate member to the CAC.

  • Jeff Webb of Spring Hill, Florida, an at-large member appointed by TBARTA Board Member Sonny Vergara.

Several alternate members of the committee were also recently appointed:

  • Lori Dorman of Bradenton, Florida was named an alternate member for Manatee County, appointed by TBARTA Board Member Commissioner Donna Hayes.
  • Tim Hodes of Wesley Chapel, Florida was named an alternate member for Pasco County, appointed by TBARTA Board Member and Secretary, Commissioner Ann Hildebrand.
  • Brian Willis of Tampa, Florida was named an alternate member for Hillsborough County, appointed by TBARTA Board Member Commissioner Ken Hagan.

TBARTA’s enabling legislation required the creation of a Citizens Advisory Committee to advise the TBARTA Board on matters relating to the creation and implementation of the Regional Transportation Master Plan.
