Search for escaped prisoner continues

CRYSTAL RIVER - Citrus County Sheriff's Office deputies will continue to search for escaped prisoner Terry Davis throughout the night.
A strong presence remains in the Inglis area with aviation, marine and K9 support; however, the search has been scaled back until daybreak.
At that time, the search will resume in full force utilizing search teams and an investigative unit. In the interim, the command center has been relocated to an area north of Crystal River.
Davis has been entered into a national database as an escaped prisoner. Detectives will also be obtaining a warrant in the morning that will charge him with an escape.
Davis fled from a detective this afternoon near Allen's Bait & Seafood on Elkins Road in Inglis. He got out of the car, ran down a boat ramp and then swam across the Withlacoochee River.
Anyone with information about Davis is encouraged to call 911 immediately.
