Liz Stacklin has volunteered at the Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center Gift Shop as a buyer for 11 years. She was recently featured in Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties, a leading magazine for the souvenir and gift industry.

CRYSTAL RIVER - America’s leading publication for the souvenir and resort gift industry featured one of Citrus County’s very own in their November/December edition.

The magazine, Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties, published an article about hospital gift shops, promoting Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center Gift Shop volunteer Liz Stacklin and her success in the industry.

Liz has volunteered as the Gift Shop’s buyer for 11 years, stocking the shelves with traditional trinkets and modern wares. The magazine was most impressed with her collection of gift cards. “Liz Stacklin…not only displays her extensive greeting card section of over 200 styles in well-lighted wall rack slots but also shows selective ones on a sales card placed in front of the shop door.”

The article concluded that greeting cards of every type appear to be unaffected by the current consumers’ love of hi-tech communication, at least in the hospital gift shop setting. Liz noted that greeting card sales remain a staple in her inventory mix, while stationery, once important, has now dwindled considerably in importance.
The Gift Shop at Seven Rivers Regional is funded and operated by the Volunteer Services League. Proceeds from sales support the Seven Rivers Medical and Education Foundation, which provides scholarships to students pursing a career in health care.

Souvenirs, Gifts & Novelties magazine, established in 1962, is published eight times per year. Editorial is based on a "how to" format and is the only gift trade publication addressing the needs of its retail and wholesale readership.
