Sheriff's 10-43 show showcases Jessie's Place
Join hostess Heather Yates at Jessie’s Place, Citrus County’s Children’s Advocacy Center, by watching this week’s Sheriff’s 10-43 show at 7:30 on Wednesday, Channel 16.
The entire show was shot on location giving viewers an inside look at how Jessie’s Place makes a huge difference in the lives of abused children.
Census Job Fair is Thursday
The 2010 Census staff will hold a job fair near on Thursday Inverness at the United Methodist Church at 3896 S Pleasant Grove Road
(County Road 581), just south of town.
The job fair will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is open to residents who want to work temporarily for the 2010 Census.

Remember to set your clocks forward this weekend to account for "springing forward" to Daylight Savings Time.
You can set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night, and still make it to church on time on Sunday morning.
Forestry performing prescribed burn today
The Florida Division of Forestry will be conducting an 800 acre prescription burn on the Two Mile Prairie Tract of the Withlacoochee State Forest today.
Residents of the communities of Citrus Springs and Holder may notice the smoke plume form this activity.
Beverly Hills Park now has new hours
Effective on Monday, the Beverly Hills Community Park began operating under new hours of operation.
The park, lat 997 W. Roosevelt Boulevard in Beverly Hills, will open at dawn and close at dusk.
Commission to discuss recreation fees, privatizing utilities
The Citrus County Commission will hold its regular meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the courthouse in Inverness and will consider a number of issues, including:
- A 2:10 p.m. presentation by Commission Joe Meek regarding the newly constituted Citrus County Economic Development Council funding agreement.
Meek to address Women's Political Network
Citrus County Commissioner and EDC president Joe Meek will speak about the restructuring of the EDC and his role as president of the organization at the Feb. 15 meeting of the Women’s Political Network of Citrus County.
Friends of the NCVC to present 'Tribute to Women of Song'

Landfill recycling Christmas trees for free
Homeowners will be able to recycle their natural Christmas trees at the Citrus County Central Landfill free of charge during the months of December and January.
To be accepted for recycling, the trees must be cleaned of all decorations and lights and must be dropped off by the end of January.
Online prescription discount card available to residents
Citrus County residents who want to use the discount prescription card being provided by the Citrus County Commission can now print out the card online.
The discount card, provided to the county through its affiliation with the Nation Association of Counties (NACo), is presently available to Citrus residents at most all pharmacies in the county.
'Angels' give clothing, blankets to newborns
CRYSTAL RIVER - A group of "angelic" ladies from a crafting charity have generously donated clothing and blankets to be given to Citrus County newborns.

Free household hazardous waste drop-off Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
Residents may drop off household hazardous waste at the Citrus County Central Landfill on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Up to 60 lbs total per visit will be accepted free of charge.
