All county offices and facilities, including the Lecanto Government Building, the courthouse, the Citrus County Resource Center and the county landfill, will be closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 6.
All county facilities will be open on the following day, Tuesday, Sept. 7, as usual.
The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners’ Extension Office in Lecanto will be hosting the Green Expo 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, and the public is invited.
The Social Security office in the Citrus County Resource Center at 2804 W. Marc Knighton Court in Lecanto will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
The Social Security office at the Resource Center is normally open with a representative on site on Mondays and on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will reopen as usual on Thursday, Sept. 9
The Citrus County Central Landfill will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6, in observance of Labor Day.
It will open as usual on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will meet from 10 a.m. to noon at the Citrus County Resource Center on Monday, Sept. 13.
The support group is sponsored by Citrus County Support Services.
The group meets at the Resource Center on the first Monday of the month, but because of the Labor Day holiday, this meeting has been moved to the 13th.
The Citrus County Parks and Recreation Division closed Ft. Island Gulf Beach Park to swimming Friday after the Citrus County Environmental Health Department issued an advisory for the beach, warning of high bacterial counts in water samples.
The samples showed fecal coliform bacteria counts were over the state standard.

American Legion Post 155 Family will hold its annual 9-11 Freedom walk at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11.
