A three-month-long undercover drug investigation culminated today with the bust of a well-organized indoor grow operation at 10168 N. Citrus Springs Boulevard in Citrus Springs.
Members of the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office's Tactical Impact Unit served a search warrant before seizing more than 250 cannabis plants ranging in size from one-month-old plants to mature plants ready for harvest.
Trafficking amounts of final product also were seized. In all, the seized marijuana weighed 84 pounds, the CCSO says.
The bust translates into more than $250,000 worth of illegal cannabis being taken off the streets. The value of the stolen electric power is valued at $33,000, according to the CCSO.
Arrested were Gregory Pearson, 40, of 10168 N. Citrus Springs, and Danielle Champagne, 37, of the same address. According to his arrest report, Pearson also went under the alias of David Walsh.
The pair will face multiple drug charges that include cultivation of cannabis, trafficking in cannabis, theft of utilities, renting for the purpose of cannabis cultivation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
