Authorities say Leona Field was killed when she asked her boyfriend to move out of their house.
New information was released today about apparent murder-suicide on Saturday in Dunnellon in which two people were killed.
When Citrus County Sherifff's Office deputies arrived on scene at 6439 W. Riverbend Road, they found two people dead, and their injured friend all outside by the driveway of the residence.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced both the male shooter, who has not yet been identified, and his female victim, 63-year-old Leona Field, dead at the scene. Field suffered two gunshot wounds to the head and neck area.
Detectives investigating the apparent murder-suicide also say a handgun was recovered in the front yard of the couple's residence, where the shooter is said to have turned the gun on himself.
Steven Snowman, 66, of Inverness, a friend of the couple who was airlifted to Shands Hospital in Gainesville for treatment of a head wound from an unknown weapon, is expected to make a complete recovery.
Detectives are still attempting to notify the shooter's next of kin.
