Hernando County offers weekend for women in November

The Hernando County Recreation Department is hosting a Women's Outdoor Weekend on Nov. 7 and 8.

The event will be held at the Lakewood Retreat, 25458 Brown Hill Road in Brooksville. Pre-registration only, and space is limited to 50 women only.

Workshops include:

  • Knot Tying: “Tie Like A Guy” by Beth Doyle
  • Low Ropes Initiative Course provided by Lakewood Retreat
  • Wildlife Rehabilitation by Linda Christian, Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator
  • Introduction to Reading a Compass by Dennis M. Andrews
  • How to be Happy, Healthy & Vibrant by Laura DeWitt, Co-owner of Brooksville Natural Foods
  • Outdoor Cooking presented by the International Dutch Oven Society
  • Geocaching by Judy Mezzacapo

The price of $125 per person includes four cafeteria meals, heated cabins/bunk beds and seminars. Checks, money orders, Visa and MasterCard are acceptable. No cash. Processing fee for cancellations is $25. You can pay $50 down payment, with balance due on or before Oct. 1. Space is limited to 50 women only.
