A Lecanto man was killed Saturday night after being hit by a car while crossing State Road 44.
The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man as Robert Good, 57.
According to the FHP, Good was crossing S.R. 44, east of County Road 491 at about 9 p.m. when a car driven by Melissa L. Bancroft, 31, of Inverness struck him as she was traveling west in her 2005 Hyundai XG350L.
Neither Bancroft nor her passenger, 21-year-old Brock J. Harding of Hernando, were hurt. The FHP said that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to an FHP report.
FHP troopers are still investigating the crash, and would like to speak with anyone who saw what happened. If you have any information, call Corporal S. Campbell at (352) 754-6767.
