The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31, to receive presentations from three firms interested in bidding on providing maintenance and operation services for the county’s utility system.
The commission is looking into the possibility of bidding out for the service, which is now provided by county staff.
The board will hear from U.S. Water Services Corporation; Veolia Water North America - South, LLC; and Woodard & Curran. The board has not made a decision about whether to out-source the services, and the purpose of the meeting is to hear and evaluate their qualifications and then to rank them.
The next regular meeting of the board will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 14. The board will hold its tentative budget hearing, the first of two mandatory public hearings on the 2010-11 budget at that meeting at 5:01 p.m.
