Two upcoming public hearings before the Citrus County Commission - one regarding a mine north of Crystal River and the other involving a resort in Homosassa - have been rescheduled.
The Nature Coast Mine hearing scheduled for June 14 before the county commission has now been changed to the June 28 meeting at 5:15 p.m..
The hearing is for a proposed Planned Development Overlay (PDO) to the Citrus County Land Development Code (LDC) to adopt a master plan with reduced setbacks from residential property for a new 150 acre +/- limerock mine within an existing extractive district off West Lancelot Court in Red Level.
In the other hearing being rescheduled, the Halls River Retreat hearing that was set to go before the commission on June 28, for a Comprehensive Plan amendment/atlas amendment/planned development overlay has now been changed to the July 26 meeting at 5:30 p.m.
That application is asking for a recreational resort with 30 cabins, a manager's cabin, and a 3,000 square foot restaurant.
