A fire on Saturday completely destroyed a mobile home in Hernando.
Citrus County firefighters were called out at 8:18 a.m. to battle the blaze at 4350 N. Frolly.
The homeowners were not home at the time the fire broke out, the fire report says.
Arriving firefighters found the home about 75 percent involved in flames, and the heat from the fire had damaged a GMC pickup truck in front of a garage building attached to the structure.
After extinguishment of the fire in the garage attic, the crew began a fire attack on the main building using a defensive fire attack due to the amount of structural damage to the mobile home.
The Citrus County Citrus County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control due to the number of fire vehicles stationed on State Road 200.
Damage to the structures is estimated at $60,000, and the mobile home is listed as a total loss. The truck suffered moderate damage.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.
