Just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a 53-year-old Homosassa man who’d inexplicably walked away from his home at 7576 W. Vineyard Drive earlier that morning without any explanation.
Thomas Turnbull, a self-employed landscaper, is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, and weighing 190 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes, a full beard and a mustache.
According to those closest to him, Turnbull had been experiencing personal difficulties lately, and appeared to be mildly depressed.
The Sheriff’s Office responded with ground units searching the area both on Friday and Saturday, and utilized the agency’s helicopter, K-9 units and ATVs to look for the missing man. So far, he has not been located, but the search is expected to continue today.
Turnbull’s information was entered into the national missing person database where he’s listed as missing and endangered. A CodeRED (reverse 911) message also was sent out to the surrounding area, plus a BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued to all patrol units.
If anyone has information about Thomas William Turnbull or his whereabouts, please call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers of Citrus County, Inc., right away. Text CITRUS plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES), click on www.crimestopperscitrus.com or call 1-888-ANY-TIPS toll-free.
