Two unemployed Homosassa men have been arrested following a home invasion reported at 12:27 a.m. on Friday in Lecanto.

Arrested were Kyle C. Corriveau, 20, and Anthony Nero, 22, both of whom listed their address as 5172 S. Thrasher Ave. in Homosassa.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office says that both this home invasion and the invasion on Thursday of a Citrus Springs home are cases which are still open and active. No other arrests are anticipated in the Lecanto case at this time, the CCSO says.

The victims, both neighbors, were ages 53 and 71.

According to the arrest report, the older neighbor told deputies he was robbed by two men he didn't know, who stuck a shotgun to his face. He described them as wearing light-colored gray hoodies, and told a deputy that they made off with his money and prescription pills and then fled.

The victim told a deputy that he had just called his younger neighbor to say he had just been robbed and had hung up the phone - when suspects Corriveau and Nero returned and demanded more cash. When the younger neighbor arrived at the home, one of the suspects holding the shotgun pointed it at him and threatened to shoot him. The younger neighbor made a break for cover, and the two men left the home for the second time.

Corriveau and Nero were later arrested after a third, unidentified man gave information to investigators. Corriveau was contacted at a residence near his home, read his rights and questioned.

He also provided information to investigators that Nero was in the South Thrasher Avenue residence. After getting permission from Corriveau's father to search the home, Nero was found hiding under one of the home's beds.

Nero was read his rights and questioned. He appeared to be under the influence of something. When asked about that, Nero told deputies he had taken four "Roxy's" and had drank a 24-pack of beer. He also said that he didn't remember anything that is alleged to have happened.

Corriveau was charged with one count of home invasion, and his total bond was set at $50,000. Nero was charged with one count of home invasion, aggravated assault on a person more than 65 years old and petit theft, and his total bond was set at $55,250.
