Two three-year terms on the Citrus County Commission’s Planning and Development Review Board (PDRB) will be expiring at the end of January, and interested persons may apply to be appointed.
The board meets the first and third Thursdays of the month.
The volunteer board reviews development applications and makes recommendations to the county commissioners on changes to the Citrus County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code. The PDRB has final action on Variance and Conditional Use applications. The PDRB also provides direction to staff regarding land use amendments as well as text amendments on development issues.
One of the two positions is for Commission District 4, and the other is an at-large position for the county.
District 4 encompasses the area bounded by County 491 to the west, State Road 44 and CR 581 to the north, and the Withlacoochee River to the east. It does not include most of the city of Inverness, but it does include most of the Highlands and the whole Floral City area.
Applications for appointment may be obtained at the commission offices in the courthouse in Inverness or at the Lecanto Government Building and dropped off at either location. They can also be downloaded from the county website: www.bocc.citrus. Click on “Advisory Boards” in the left hand column to get to the page. For more information or assistance, call 341-6560 or 527-5210.
