The Gulf to Lake Church Upward sports program remains active in Citrus County. The program is open to any Citrus County student in grades K-8.
The basketball games at Crystal River High School will be coming to an end, with the last game being played on April 12, starting at 9 a.m.
The program has really progressed during its first year of the program. The improvements seen in the kids are unbelievable. The sportsmanship, attitudes and their appreciation of the Lord's work in their daily life. An awards dinner will be held at the church complex on April 19 at 1 p.m., with the kids wearing the stars they have accumulated during the season, and their special recognition for their accomplishments.
For further information, contact Chris Hope at 586-4685.
The basketball program is so successful, and will be ending soon, but to the delight of the kids, Gulf to Lake Church will be starting their soccer program on May 15 at Harp Field in Homosassa at 1 p.m. All Citrus County students in grades K-8 are eligible to participate.
The great thing about UPWARD sports all kids can participate in the playing, and its not based on playing abilities. We match the kids with other kids with the same playing abilities, grade levels to give all students the opportunity to play. We make sure all the kids get the same playing time, and with kids will equal playing abilities. So if you have never participated in sports, or you are a superstar you can still play. We teach sportsmanship, the love that God has for us, and teamwork.
For any additional information parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, guardians, or students can contact Chris Hope at Gulf To Lake Church at 352-586-4685.
We are looking forward to hearing from those who have played, or want to play to join us. This basketball program has been very enjoyable, and inspirational for me these last 3 months. Don't delay, and call us today.
We can also use volunteers so if anyone is interested please contact Chris at the above telephone numbers.
