What is being forecast as an all-day rain pelted Citrus County voters today, as a weather front moved in and began to flood many low-lying parts of the county.
The usual flooding was evident in much of downtown Homosassa Springs, including the intersection of U.S. 19 and Grover Cleveland Boulevard today. The rest of the day will also feature even more rain, and voters are advised to take their umbrellas to the polls, as well.
According to the National Weather Service, a large area of showers and thunderstorms continue over the Gulf of Mexico, and moving onshore from Bradenton to Lakeland and up through the Nature Coast and Sumter County to Williston and Chiefland.
Those venturing out can expect heavy rain, with minor flooding of the low-lying areas.
Polls close tonight at 7.
