Events:
In February, Citrus Clowns performed at the International Food Festival event in Beverly Hills, it was a very overcast and rainy day, so understandably, the crowd was small. The weather didn`t dampen our spirits however, as great, live dance music was provided. Jewels The Clown (aka Mary K. Hall) danced quite a bit and ” Dr. Yar “ (aka Ray Thompson), did his balloon art. Of course, we had fun ! It was so good having Dr. Yar back with us, as he had been very ill for several months. Welcome back “Dr. Yar” !
Many thanks to Nature Coast Affordable Housing Corp. and Mr. G. for the generous donation for Citrus Clowns group.

The Strawberry Festival at Floral Park, Floral City, was our early March event. It was cold, but festivals are always great fun for Citrus Clowns. For this festival, Citrus Clowns performed in our new RED tent, no one could miss seeing us ! (Many thanks to O. H. and E.Z. for setting up the tent for us )!We performed Saturday and Sunday, very long days, but so much fun ! It was so cold, we had to wear heavy clothing under our clown costumes. No, we haven`t gotten fat, it was the clothes, that made us look fat ! Really, that`s what it was ! That`s my version and I`m sticking to it !
Performing Saturday were: Clown Sunny( aka Vicky Iozzia), with Little Sunny, her clown puppet boy.
Everyone loves to see Little Sunny, he`s always so thrilled to clown with us. Jewels The Clown, was our usual bejeweled clown and a face painter for this event. The children loved having their faces or hands painted, by a clown wearing a red hat with a big red crab on top. Clown Martie (aka Martha M.), our Lady Tramp clown, strolled around chatting with the crowd and giving out stickers, in the afternoon . Martie always looks so cute !
Sunday`s performances were by Clown Sunny, who sported a new red sequined hat and looked very dapper, her puppet friend was a hippopotamus .(As Vicky Iozzia, she is the author of the children`s book,”I`m Lu, The Hippopotamus”. ) Also, Jewels The Clown , face painted again, making scads of children very happy. The children seem fascinated by all of Jewel`s jewelry and her pink hair and pink hat dripping in jewels. Hundreds of people stopped by to take pictures of our clowns and to see us in action , it was a fun time for all !
Citrus Clowns have three upcoming events in late March and early April. A full report will be given of those events. An Easter Egg Hunt will be in Citrus Springs, a huge Galloneer Picnic will be in Inverness, and a Family Fun Day will be in Citrus Springs, what fun we will have !
