The Citrus County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man and a woman in connection with the assault of a woman on Sunday in parking lot of Inverness Huddle House.
The woman, Brandi Webb, 20, of Inverness, was making a cellphone call at the time she was assaulted.
Accused of pushing her down and snatching her purse is Robert Jackson, 20, of 3180 N. Page Ave. in Hernando. According to the arrest report, Jackson is said to have then run away to a waiting pickup truck, driven by Christine M. McMahon, 29, of 1405 Carl St. in Inverness.
Webb and her friend, John Sarver, 19, of Inverness, chased Jackson to the truck, and the arrest report says that Jackson pulled out a small pocket knife, opened it, and threatened to stab the couple if they came any closer.
The arrest report says Jackson got into the truck and he and McMahon then drove off in the direction of Wildwood.
Both Jackson and McMahon were found at her home on Carl Street and arrested.
Deputies asked McMahon if she wanted to take her purse with her, and she said she did. It was searched, and inside deputies found about seven pills, six of which were controlled substances. When asked about the pills, the arrest report, McMahon is said to have stated that she did not have prescriptions for the pills.
At the Citrus County jail, both were booked and charged with robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and grand theft. McMahon was also charged with the possession of a controlled substance.
Bond for Jackson was set at $17,000, and at $22,000 for McMahon.
